QuartzMill System The feed product has to be pre-crushed into < 5 mm, better < 3 mm and dried to < 0,2 % H2O. We use stearic acid for coating in flake or power condition. Special equipment design for micronized quartz/silica processing based on many plants around the world. The feed product gets fed out of the feed silo into the ball mill. We use a grate wall discharge mill with D/L of > 2. During grinding we add a grinding aid of 0,3 – 0,8 ‰ to improve the production performance. The ball mill gets a special steel lining and grinding media composition to avoid contamination and protect whiteness of the final product. Out of the ball mill we convey directly to a single-wheel classifier or a multi-wheel classifier. This classifier produces all requested finenesses and capacities only by changing the rotation speed of the classifying wheel. The coarse reject goes back to ball mill for re-grinding.
